On February 6th a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the border region between Türkiye and Syria, followed nine hours later by a horrific 7.5-magnitude aftershock.
This was the most powerful earthquake the region has seen in almost a century. The horrifying death toll has soared past 47,000, with freezing temperatures and snow falling.
Relief organizations are working diligently to support the rapidly changing needs on the ground as the devastation continues to unfold. Rescue teams are working in the hardest-hit areas where survivors remain trapped under rubble.
